I LOVE photography! Of course pretty much every photographer says it and they more than likely ARE passionate about what they do, otherwise they wouldn't be doing it! I can remember back in grade school my friends and I would take pictures and "model" for each other, it was pretty silly the things we did!!! I've always had a passion for it, always drooled over other peoples cameras that were better than mine!
Why do I do what I do? As I've mentioned already, I LOVE photography, always had an eye for great pictures! Back in 2010 we had the Traveling Vietnam Wall Memorial come through Gillette Wyoming, I was taking pictures of it, and one of the men in charge came up to me and asked if I did photography. I replied I only did it as a hobby and it was always a passion of mine. I showed him a few pictures on my camera and he loved them! He asked me to share them on their website and I was HONORED to do so!! He had several inquiries about who the professional photographer was that took the pictures! That of COURSE made me feel great and got me into looking at what I needed to do to sell my pictures. I was also asked by my brother and his girlfriend to take their pictures for their Christmas cards! Of COURSE I jumped at the chance to do it and they got SEVERAL compliments on the pictures! In fact, they had a tough time choosing which ones to use, so they used them all!! Then I was approached by a friend of mine to do her and her husbands Christmas cards (of course i jumped at the chance again!). They were viewing their pictures when they came to pick them up and her husband asked me if I did this professionally. Nope, just as a hobby! "You should do this professionally!" So after hearing that over and over again (this happened a LOT throughout my life) I thought, "WHY NOT!! What's it going to hurt?" So here I am!!!
I am VERY outgoing and relaxed, and rather goofy at times! My goal is to find out what your vision for a picture is and take my vision and put them together to make a BEAUTIFUL picture!!! If you don't have an idea, don't worry! Let's get to know each others personalities and we'll make it work!
I PREFER to do shoots outdoors using the light that God gave us and use His work as an amazing backdrop! Of course living in Wyoming, weather isn't always on our side!!! I DO have some studio equipment, (it IS portable, and quick to set up and take down, so if you don't want to use my basement, I can come to your place) so if you prefer to do indoor shoots we can! For the time being, I only have black and white backdrops (until I get more established and can get better equipment).
My goal is to be affordable (but still be able to make an income) so i've asked some people what they are willing to pay. I understand the fear of "you get what you pay for" but look at my work, let THAT do the talking!!!
I'm VERY excited to get this going and I look forward to doing a shoot for you!!!!
