I majored in art in college and I have always loved photography. In high school my parents got me my first real 35mm camera. I have been updating my cameras and taking pictures ever since! I love it. In addition to artistic photography, I photograph children, babies, families, high school seniors, weddings and events such as parties, sporting events, and shows. I also design custom baby, holiday, engagement, and graduation announcements, save-the-date cards, birthday party and other invitations. I want my images to evoke a narrative, but in a way that is open to interpretation. Mu images are fabricated, because I love the ability to control with is happening through the lens. I have love photography since I was a kid with a disposable camera.
I was born and raised in a small town, Meridian MS. I started professional photography in 2004 right out of high school. My in-laws at the time were contracted with taking photos at the surrounding schools and I followed suit. Whit I experienced there had a profound effect on me. I then went on to college and received several certifications in Photography, lighting and studio and location photo shoots. I have had many different degrees and occupational training/careers while I have been running my photography business on the side, such as: an Associates in Paralegal Studies, Phlebotomy and Pharmacy Technician.
The images I create are influenced by environment and location and of course the subject of the shoot and what they are wanting out of the entire photo shoot experience. Sometimes my images are not about the people I photograph, instead I see them as actors playing a part in my images. Aesthetics always plays a role. But I feel it should support the overall vision. I try to be transparent in my work. I prefer the viewer to see the images with their own eyes, and bring their own interpretation into the photo.
